What is the Dent Platform?

History of Dent

Tero Katajainen is the founder and CEO of DENT Wireless. Obtained a Master of Science degree from Tampere University of Technology in 1999 and became a system administrator and Java programmer at the university after graduation. In 2001, Katajainen became Chief Technology Officer of Genetics AG and in 2003 founded Pocket Indian Software Solutions. Katajainen served as the United Nations' Senior Advisor for Java/Android in 2015 and has received multiple awards and honors in the technology field.

Mikko Linnamäki is co-founder of DENT Wireless. He is an active businessman and entrepreneur since 2000. Prior to founding Dent, Linnamäki owned five successful businesses and positioned himself as a "pioneer in Internet software and family of web businesses." His oldest enterprise is Smartseed GmbH, which has been operating successfully since the end of 2000. Since then, Linnamäki has been involved in creating DEVCOT, one of the largest open source IMAP servers in the world.

What is DENT Coin?

The DENT cryptocurrency is an Ethereum-based token and Dent’s native cryptocurrency that powers Dent. DENT is currently worth $0.0057 and is used to buy and sell wireless data on the DENT app.

DENT held an initial coin offering (ICO) in July 2017, raising $4.3 million (€3.8 million, £3.2 million) with 70 billion tokens. At the time of issuance, DENT was valued at $0.00006 at the time of the ICO. During the 2018 bull run, DENT hit an all-time high near $0.09 on the Binance exchange. However, prices fell by more than 95% during the bear market, but have since reversed trend throughout the summer of 2020.
