The Founder of Cardano Examines the Effects of AI on Cryptocurrency and Reality
After previously cautioning against the misuse of AI for cryptocurrency deception, Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, proposed an AI OnlyFans poll and shared a YouTube video featuring AI-generated influencer Aitana Lopez, expressing concerns about AI's impact on reality and cryptocurrencies.

Charles Hoskinson, the progenitor of the Cardano blockchain, has initiated a discourse regarding the escalating impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the physical world and the possible ramifications that may arise for cryptocurrencies, as reported by U.Today. Hoskinson prompted his followers to vote on whether he should establish a cryptocurrency OnlyFans for an AI version of himself via his official X account. The notion evoked a range of responses from members of the Cardano community.
Hoskinson's tweet posited that the exponential and pervasive expansion of artificial intelligence is "cohering reality from fantasy." Four response options were provided in the survey: 'yes,''super yes,' 'yes, but Caddle Daddy,' and 'no.' The prevailing sentiment among the respondents was 'no,' with 35.6% selecting the former option and 19.1%, 16.1%, and 29.2% selecting the latter three. There were 3,554 responses to the poll, and the corresponding tweet has garnered 59,000 views.
Hoskinson also provided a hyperlink to a YouTube short film centered on Aitana Lopez, the initial social media influencer from Spain to be generated by artificial intelligence. Aitana, a persona developed by a Spanish advertising agency utilizing AI and Photoshop, boasts pink hair, asserts a monthly income of $11,000, and has accumulated an 181,000-follower count on Instagram. This revenue is reportedly generated by advertising brands that contact the agency, especially those that are unable to invest in extensive advertising campaigns.
Concerns have been previously voiced by Hoskinson regarding the possible misuse of AI. He predicted in December 2023 that fraudsters might exploit artificial intelligence to defraud cryptocurrency holders. Hoskinson issued this admonition in reaction to a deepfake video that made a commitment to donate an ADA prize. He hypothesized that artificial intelligence might develop to the point where it becomes impossible to differentiate between authentic and counterfeit content.
