NFT Game Illuvium and Team Liquid Form a Partnership for PVP Testing and Esports Collaboration

Team Liquid is reportedly working with the developers of the NFT game Illuvium to test its player-versus-player (PVP) creature autobattler system on a turn-based system, as reported by Decrypt. Victor Goossens, co-CEO and founder of Team Liquid, declared the alliance and stated that the organisation would conduct limit-testing and provide guidance on the PVP component of the game. A number of Team Liquid members, such as content creator 'Midbeast' and League of Legends player 'Broxah,' will be engaged in the testing procedure.

In 2024, Team Liquid, which secured $35 million in funding at a valuation of $415 million the previous year, will collaborate with Illuvium to establish the esports scene and tournaments for the game. Together, the organisations will co-host an esports competition that features a prize pool of $100,000. Furthermore, as an extension of the collaboration, Illuvium NFTs featuring character costumes and avatars with a Team Liquid motif will be made available. Illuvium is constructed on Immutable X, a gaming-centric Ethereum scaling network. Establishing a paradigm shift for Web3 gaming within the realm of conventional esports, the partnership intends to fashion a reality in which gaming accomplishments have practical applications.
