According to Decrypt, the forthcoming Immutable zkEVM network will exempt participants from paying transaction fees. This information was provided by the crypto gaming company Immutable. This will be feasible via a functionality that enables game developers to "sponsor" players' transportation expenses. Games built on the gaming-focused Ethereum scaling network Immutable zkEVM, which was introduced in March, will have the option to enable this feature. Potentially removing substantial obstacles to the wider adoption of blockchain gaming, this action could reduce the cost for players to test out new titles.

Lead of Product Marketing for Immutable, Michael Powell, stated that Web3 games must provide a streamlined and intuitive user experience, rendering the blockchain components as natural and uncomplicated as possible, in order to genuinely attract all gamers. Gas fees will be waived for players utilizing the forthcoming universal gamer profile system, Immutable Passport, when it comes to games that are sponsored by their respective developers. Immutable intends to provide gas fee sponsorship for all games for a "limited time" beginning in early 2020, when the zkEVM mainnet is launched.
